Nordea Open launches Sustainability in Sports Conference 2026

Sustainability in Sports Conference 2026 - Båstad

Nordea Open announces the launch of the Sustainability in Sports Conference 2026, bringing together leading voices from sport, business and sustainability to explore how the industry can drive meaningful, long-term change.

The conference will take place on July 13, 2026, during Nordea Open in Båstad, and is designed as a platform for dialogue, collaboration and practical insights — with a focus on moving sustainability in sport from ambition to action.

“Sustainability requires collaboration, new perspectives and continuous development. With this conference, we want to create a space where ideas can be shared and developed into concrete actions,” says Patrik Fredriksson, CEO of Nordea Open.

Confirmed speakers include Josh Rudd, who leads sustainability efforts across the ATP Tour and works closely with tournaments and players to reduce the sport’s environmental footprint, and Melissa Pine from the WTA, focusing on equality and inclusion as key drivers for the future of tennis. From a broader sports perspective, Maria Grandinetti Milton, Director of Sustainability at the DP World Tour and Ryder Cup Europe, will share how large-scale sustainability programmes are implemented across global events.

Katie Neck is the Founder of the award-winning Sustained Futures, committed to closing the Future Skills gap, inclusively. After six seasons at McLaren F1 working with AI, ML and Technology partnerships she will share her experience in ”Building Climate Resilience” into the Business of Sport.

The programme also includes a player perspective through Andrey Rublev, recipient of the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award, recognised for his impact both on and off the tennis court.

The conference will be moderated by Anna Ekelund, News Director at Dagens industri.

The conference is part of Nordea Open’s broader vision “Leading sustainable tennis” – to combine world-class tennis with long-term responsibility and sustainable development.
