Our game plan
Nordea Open: Our plan
We want to be a leader in sustainable tennis – socially, ecologically and economically.
Here we gather our vision, our strategy, our core values and what we work with in practice.
Our strategy is based on three dimensions of sustainability: ecological, social and economic sustainability.
VISION & STRATEGI
Our Values
Arena Båstad is committed to delivering Nordea Open 2026 in a responsible, inclusive, and sustainable way.
A key part of this work is clarifying our expectations for exhibitors and partners. We want to involve them in finding solutions that reduce environmental impact while enabling our visitors to act more sustainably.
We are committed to:
- minimizing climate impact and using resources efficiently.
- transparency and ethical conduct in our operations and partnerships.
- ensuring a safe, accessible, and equitable event where everyone is welcome, regardless of background, age, gender, or ability.
We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment, or degrading treatment on any grounds, including gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or age. All participants, visitors, and stakeholders must be treated with respect and dignity.
We view sport as a positive force for societal change. Our ambition is for Nordea Open to inspire action, innovation, and dialogue around sustainability. Our partnerships are built on shared values and mutual learning.
We expect our partners to contribute relevant information that enables us to monitor and follow up on our shared sustainability objectives.
We therefore encourage all our partners to review our Sustainable Event Policy and actively support our ambitions.

The UN’s 17 Global Goals and Agenda 2030
– Our Contribution

Nordea Open promotes and inspires physical activity, a healthy lifestyle, and the joy of sport. The event is a place where movement, well-being, and community are at the centre.

We want tennis to be accessible to as many people as possible. By hosting both ATP and WTA tournaments, we aim to highlight and advance gender equality within the sport. We actively work to provide equal conditions, visibility, and opportunities regardless of gender.

We reduce single-use plastics, sort waste, and collaborate with suppliers who prioritise sustainable materials and local resources. Visitors are encouraged to make conscious and sustainable choices on site.

We strive to minimise the event’s climate impact through circularity and recycling, energy efficiency and green electricity, climate-friendly transport options, and by calculating and monitoring our emissions.

Together with sponsors, suppliers, sports organisations, and community stakeholders, we aim to drive sustainable development through shared commitments and collaboration.
Our Focus for 2026
