PRESS RELEASE

The Nordea Open receives Tournament of the Year award

We can proudly announce that the Nordea Open has been named the 2023 Tournament of the Year for all 250 tournaments on the ATP tour. In razor-sharp competition with 38 strong competitions such as Hong Kong, Doha, Dallas, Brisbane and Munich, the award is proof that the experience in Båstad is unique.

During the period 2002–2012, the competition subscribed to the award, and the fact that we are now bringing back the award in the same year that the tournament celebrated its 75th anniversary is extra fun. We who work with Nordea Open are convinced that Båstad is in many ways unique. The proximity, the level of service, the history and the atmosphere are factors that make the tournament unique and appreciated by the players.

”The whole team around the competition is extremely happy and proud to receive this award. Our ambition is to provide all players with the highest quality of service both on and off the court regardless of their ranking. We want all players to be treated like world number one. This award is proof that it has been appreciated by all the players who played the Nordea Open in Båstad this year. I want to thank all the players for their appreciation and welcome everyone back to Båstad in 2024.” Christer Hult – CEO Nordea Open

That we in Sweden can offer a world-class experience is absolutely fantastic and there are many who deserve to be recognized in connection with this award. A big reason is our organization and all the fantastic officials who represent the competition in a meritorious way. The commitment of our Partners is also invaluable. Thanks to their trust, we can deliver a product that is world-leading on the market. We never take the commitment to give and to be able to come back with this prize is of course great fun.
