After a successful summer of tennis in Båstad, where both attendance and financial records were broken, it is now official that Nordea is extending its title sponsorship of Nordea Open until at least 2027. This year’s Båstad tennis tournament saw a record-breaking 85,000 spectators, further solidifying the event’s position as one of the world’s premier summer tennis tournaments.

Tournament Director Christer Hult described the year as a “pinch-me experience,” despite world No. 1 Jannik Sinner withdrawing at the last minute. Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, however, proved to be a fan favorite, reaching the final where he faced Portugal’s Nuno Borges.

One of the most significant aspects of Nordea Open is the opportunity it provides Swedish players, both men and women, to compete at the highest international level on home soil. Through the tournament, these talents can measure themselves against the world’s elite and grow their careers in front of a supportive home crowd. The tournament plays a vital role in the development of Swedish tennis.

Nordea Open has not only been a success on-site in Båstad but also reached a global audience. Broadcasts and streaming of the tournament were distributed to over 95 countries, and there were a total of 12 million views on social media—equivalent to the combined social media presence of the Hamburg, Gstaad, and Newport tournaments.
