In Monday’s second match on the center court, Sweden’s highest-ranked female player, Kajsa Rinaldo Persson, faced Slovenian Tamara Zidansek.
In the much-anticipated afternoon heat, the crowd was treated to an entertaining match where Rinaldo Persson surprisingly won the first set 6-1. After a brilliant start from the Swede, Zidansek turned the match around by controlling more from the baseline, returning better, and surprising with drop shots, winning the next two sets 2-6 and 1-6. The match ended 1-6, 6-2, 6-1.



American Ann Li comfortably defeated Slovenian Rebecca Šramková 2-0 in sets (6-2, 6-2). Li won 12 of 16 possible games through a strong first serve, but also several saved break points from the American paved the way for the first win of the day.
