Top seeds Parry & Cristian advances in Båstad

Hennemann’s Fast Start but Parry Turns the Match Around

Top-seeded Frenchwoman Diane Parry had little to counter in the first set against local hopeful Caijsa Hennemann. Hennemann surged to a 6-1 lead, but the match took a new turn as Parry pushed it to a tie-break in the second set. Hennemann couldn’t close it out, and after losing her serve game at the start of the third set, Parry managed to hold on for the win, 1-6, 7-6(6), 6-4.

Nellie Taraba Wallberg and Mirjam Björklund also faced defeat in their respective matches, leading to a singles competition without Swedish participants. However, we can look forward to a Swedish doubles match this week as Nellie Taraba Wallberg, paired with Linea Bajraliu, won their doubles match and will play in the quarterfinals later in the week. Caijsa Hennemann, paired with Lisa Zaar, is also competing in doubles and will play their first match on Wednesday against the American pair Corley & Corley.
