Both Diane Parry and Martina Trevisan have impressed during the week, but the competition started somewhat hesitantly for both of them.
The top-seeded Frenchwoman, who knocked out local hope Caijsa Hennemann in the first round, lost her serve already in the third game of the first set. The Italian Trevisan took the opportunity to attack well on the Frenchwoman’s second serves, which paid off throughout the match. First set to the Italian’s favor 6-2.
In the second set, the players held their serve all the way to the tie-break. A tie-break that Parry started strongly with a 4-0 lead but ultimately lost 7-5. Trevisan is now playing her second semifinal of the year and will face the American Louisa Chirico. Chirico is matching her best result in Båstad, having also played in the semifinal in Båstad last year.
