Top-seeded Diane Parry, of France, continues her winning streak in Båstad with a victory over Latvia’s Darja Semenistaja, 6-1, 6-4.
Parry will face the seventh-seeded Italian, Martina Trevisan, who played against Romania’s Miriam Bulgaru on Wednesday. It was a close match, but Trevisan secured an early break in the first set and served it out 6-4.
The second set seemed to turn when Bulgaru took an early break, but the Italian countered and broke back twice to win the match 6-4, 6-4.
The longest match of the day featured our 2021 champion, Nuria Parrizas Diaz from Spain, against Argentina’s Maria Lourdes Carle. After three hours and two minutes, Parrizas Diaz managed to serve out the match, winning 6-4, 7-6(6), 7-5.
There is good news for Sweden as Caijsa Hennemann, paired with Lisa Zaar, triumphed in doubles by defeating the Corley sisters, securing their spot in the quarterfinals. This match will be played on Thursday on Court 1.
