Nordea Open WTA in Båstad Wins WTA 125 Tournament of the Year for the Third Consecutive Year

For the third consecutive year, Nordea Open WTA in Båstad has received the prestigious WTA 125 Tournament of the Year Award for 2024. The event, held in the idyllic summer town of Båstad, has once again been voted by WTA players as the most outstanding tournament in its category where 35 tournaments compete – a clear acknowledgment of the event’s high standards and professional execution.

The WTA Athlete Body, the player organization within the tour, commends Nordea Open for its dedicated organization, passionate staff, and an audience that creates an unforgettable atmosphere. Players especially highlight the event’s attention to detail, which makes it a standout on the WTA Tour.

– It is, of course, incredibly gratifying to receive this award for the third year in a row. The award was introduced in 2022, and we have won it every single year in our category. It already makes us look forward to next summer’s edition and to delivering at least the same high standard, says Sofia Arvidsson, Tournament Director for Nordea Open.

World-Class Tennis at the 2024 Edition

This year’s edition delivered world-class tennis. Martina Trevisan from Italy claimed the singles title, while the doubles title went to Paengtarn Plipuech from Thailand and Chia Yi Tsao from Taipei. These achievements, combined with a passionate audience and Båstad’s unique setting, created an unforgettable week.
