Loïs Boisson Impresses in Båstad Debut

Lois Boisson

Following her sensational breakthrough at this year’s French Open, Loïs Boisson continues to prove that her strong form is no fluke. The 22-year-old from Dijon, who stunned the tennis world by reaching the semifinals in Paris — defeating both the world No. 3 and No. 6 along the way — made her Båstad debut on Monday with an impressive performance.

Boisson faced fellow Frenchwoman Chloé Paquet in the opening round and showed no mercy. With solid baseline play, sharp angles, and a serve that delivered six aces, she comfortably secured a straight-sets victory: 6–3, 6–4.

She controlled the match from start to finish, once again displaying the maturity and tactical intelligence that made her a crowd favorite in Paris.

Tougher Test Ahead

In the next round, Boisson will face in-form Latvian Darja Semenistaja, who dominated her opening match with a 6–2, 6–2 win. The upcoming clash promises to be a real test for Boisson, as she sets her sights on another semifinal — this time on Swedish soil.

All-Swedish Doubles Clash to Close the Day

Monday’s action on Center Court will conclude with an all-Swedish doubles match. Caijsa Hennemann, who was eliminated earlier this week in the singles draw, partners with Lisa Zaar. They’ll take on the promising young duo of June Björk and Ida Johansson in what’s expected to be a high-energy, hard-fought contest.
