Sunday’s Nordea Open final will be a clash of champions between defending title holder Luciano Darderi and 2023 winner Andrey Rublev.
Darderi lifted the trophy in Båstad in 2025 and remains unbeaten on the Swedish clay. The Italian enters the final on a seven-match winning streak at the tournament and is now chasing his sixth ATP Tour title. All of his previous tour-level finals have been played on clay.
On the other side of the net stands top seed Andrey Rublev, who claimed the title in Båstad in 2023 after defeating Casper Ruud in the final. Rublev will contest his 30th ATP Tour final, having won 17 titles so far. He will also have the opportunity to record his 100th tour-level victory on clay.
The two players have met once before. In the quarter-finals in Hamburg in 2025, Rublev won a three-set battle 6–1, 3–6, 6–3. That match was also played on clay.
Another meeting between two former Båstad champions now awaits – and only one of them can leave Centre Court as a two-time Nordea Open winner.
